Sparkle Fix (Mar 13)

Sparkle Fix

So I don't know if you read about my Sparkle Time mani, but it looked like this

But #sad face# it didn't stay looking like this for long.
It got all chipped and I'm kinda OCD about that.
And I didn't want to do just the same mani again, but the nails with the diamantes still looked cute so i didn't wanna get rid of them.
So I fixed them.
Hope you like :)

Girly Girl Nail Art Challenge -Think Pink (Mar 13)

Girly Girl Nail Art Challenge
Think Pink

I was soooo excited when I heard about this challenge because it's just so me !!

So a couple of things about this post
...
For those of you that follow me or read this blog regularly
(thank you :) )
but you will know
I'm not exactly a perfect match with technology,
and I'm new to the challenge side of blogging,
so hopefully this will work :)

Also I'm a tad indecisive,
So when I saw Think Pink was the first weeks projects I had soooo many ideas.
Firstly was a mani I did a few months ago, but I will show again today because it is one of my all time favourite mani's and it matches this post so well.

Secondly was a mani I saw on someone elses page, that I didn't want to copy but thought it would be great.

And thirdly I wanted to do a pink mani suited to this time of year, so here it is :)

Hope you all like it !

Please remember to check out all the other blogs :)

Top Tips for Struggling Stampers (Mar 13)

Top Tips for Struggling Stampers

Up until very recently I have been really struggling with nail art stamping.
So I emailed some other nail art bloggers, googled some advice and kept practising, now these tips are very narrow mindedly based on my stamping struggles, but I'm guessing if I had the problem other people will do.
So until I was any good I practised on paper then obviously did my nails. ( They will be shown in a guest post in a few days)
So here are some things I learnt.

1) Using an old debit card is sooo much easier to use than the plastic scraper provided.
2) I was using too much nail polish.
3) I was either pressing either wayyy to hard or no where near enough on the plate.
4) Using the scraper at a 45 degree angle to the plate works great , I was trying to do it at like a 90 degree angle which was obviously not working.
5) If you accidental use too much polish you can wipe it off the stamper before stamping.

Hope this helps, and thank you to all those amazingly helpful bloggers who passed on their advice.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be collaborating with Laura. We decided that we were going to do a location base mani. I have for you today my manicure inspired by the state of Arizona. I was born in Arizona and have always loved the sunset in the desert. It's a must-see!

The polish I used for this mani are Sally Hansen Sun Kissed and Mellow Yellow. The red I used is Wet 'n Wild I RED a good book. I started with a white base Zoya Purity. I then sponged on the red, orange, yellow by placing all 3 colors on a sponge and dabbing them onto the nail. It took two coats of sponging. I then used a black acrylic paint to draw the cactus and landscape. Sadly during clean up I wiped away some of the color so please excuse the white peaking through on the edges.

I just wanted to show you the beauty of the sunset. I used this image as my inspiration.

Thank you all for viewing my manicure. A huge thank you to Laura for putting this whole thing together. I loved doing this mani and I hope we can do a collaboration again soon in the future.

Time Period Challenge- Ancient Egypt (Mar 13)

Time Period Challenge
Ancient Egypt
I am so excited to be taking part in my first nail art challenge ... so here it goes, hope it works and hope you guys like it :)

I realised after I posted this that the Inlinkz button is in the top corner, Which I kinda like but I know its not the done thing, anyway, if anyone knows how to sort this then please let me know in the comments :)

I painted my nails with a neutral 17 nail polish, then went over it lightly with W7 "Midnight".
Then again created pyramids with the 17 colour.
I drew on the hieroglyphics's with a black gel pen (I've been wanting to try this technique for ages and this seemed the perfect opportunity), then I went over any missing bits with a Rio nail art pen.
The letters spell out my name; Laura, and my fiances' name , Lewis.

I enjoyed using gel pens for nail art although, I would like to share that it is a lot harder than I expected, the actual nail art was easier than I thought (Obviously easier than nail polish), even though I have picked a pretty difficult design. However what is tricky is that the gel smudges everywhere, then it smudged more when I applied a top coat. So my pictures aren't best :(
So I will keep practising this :)

Little Laura Loves Guilty as Charged - Guest Post (Mar 13)

Little Laura Loves Guilty as Charged
Guest Post

Hellooo! Big thanks to Laura for this opportunity to guest post on each other's blogs, I have never done this before and it was super fun! I decided to do a manicure based on the top she wore in this post.

It took me awhile to figure out how make the daisies look right, but once I started I just rolled with it. While doing this I had, "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow..." replaying in my head over and over for some reason xD. I think this would be a fun manicure to re-do in pastel colors to make it more springish, even have the colors be a skittle.

I used:
Sally Hansen Black Out
Clair's White nail art pen

Thanks again to Laura for this opportunity! If you would like you can check out my blog here. :)

Thank you Haleigh for this beautiful post !!
