L'Oreal Ever Riche Shampoo Sample (June 13)

L'Oreal Ever Riche Shampoo Sample

Hello readers,
Over the last few days I have been testing out L'Oreal Ever Riche Shampoo.
I'm a bit disappointed really as there's not much to say about it, it didn't have a smell, at all, it didn't have a look or a texture that particularly stood out.
It was just there, my hair felt clean after but other than that there were no outstanding qualities to comment on.
Personally I'm going to be sticking with my normal brand.

Remington Pro Ionic Ultra

Remington Pro Ionic Ultra

I had to get a new hair dryer this week as my old one broke :(
So I got this Remington Pro Ionic Ultra and I love it, it has an extra fast setting as well as a cold setting, on top of all the usual buttons, it dries in record speed, with out being too heavy, and leaves me with super glossy hair !!
All for £25 !!

Lather, Rinse Repeat - From Nov 12 (June 13)

Lather, Rinse, Repeat
From Nov 12

Lather, rinse, repeat !

This might seem an obvious post, I mean lets face it we've all being washing our own hair independently since the age of 4, right ?
But I thought I'd share somethings I've learnt through trial and error, and a few interesting facts of how to get your hair Squeaky clean.
( - Yes squeaky clean, if you run your finger down two or three strands of hair while in the shower, and it squeaks, it generally means any product has been washed out and your hair is clean. )

So here's my method to shiny locks.

Firstly I wash all my face, this way no exfoliate etc gets in my hair.

Then I shampoo, rinse out, and repeat. I always used to shampoo just the once, as people had told me repeating was just an instruction to sell more shampoo, how ever it turns out the first wash simply removes all the dirt, the second wash then allows the product to do all of the clever jobs the bottle advertises.
Hair dressers advise you can shampoo your hair up to five times in one shower depending on the condition of the hair.

Then I run the conditioner through the pony tail of my hair.
Only through the pony tail.

I then stay out from the water while I wash my body allowing the conditioner time to work its magic.

If my hair is particularly messy, for example if I've back combed it that day. I add conditioner to a comb and remove all the knots. I then wash out the conditioner using cold water.
This is because cold closes the pores and therefore you don't loose as much hair.

Finally once I am out the shower I brush through and either blow dry or wrap in a towel to dry.

I like to use big paddle brushes, the pink one is from Claire's Accessories and the grey one from Avon, I like to use them because they get the knot's out with out hurting, they also add volume.

10 Ways to do a Pony Tail - From Oct 12 (June 13)

10 Ways to do a Pony Tail
From Oct 13

10 Ways to do a Pony Tail

As I've mentioned before, I work in a school, so most days I try and have my hair up, but a pony tail every day ... soooo boring !!
And quite frankly more straining on your head and hair than you'd think.
Having a pony tail in the same place day after day can make hair weak and lack less as well as giving you a head ache.
So here are a few ways to change it up.
xx

1. Is obviously the normal pony tail.

2. Below I have shown a simple way of changing up a pony tail. All you do is a normal pony then get a small piece of hair from underneath and wrap it around where the hair tie is. Then keep in place with bobby pins and hair spray.

3. This is a really simple idea that looks really effective. Start by making a low pony tail, quite loose. Just above the hair tie make a small gap, and push the tail through it.

4. Again just a normal pony tail, but here I have added a flower hair tie. Other accessories you could try are real flowers, or if you have a fringe, a hair band might look cute.

5. This is a really high pony. To make this into "cheer hair" I would simply add a few more curls in the tail and add a bow.

6. This is a really slicked back pony tail. I did it using a paddle brush and hair spray.

7. Please ignore the slightly cheesy grin, this is a messy pony, to create this look I used dry shampoo - of which I am a huge fan. I scraped my hair into a pony tail using just my fingers rather than a brush, then to make it a bit rougher I tightened the hair tie bit by bit rather than all at once.

 8. I'm not usually a big fan of a quiff, but here is a small one, again I used dry shampoo for this look.

9. Here is a half up half down look, I'm sure I will do a post dedicated just to this at some point.

 10. This is a pony tail with a parting. I just swept my hair into this low maintenance look.

And one just for luck (since one was a bit of a cop out) , this is a simple bun.

High There Pony (May 13)

High There Pony

I love this scruffy type of pony tail at the moment, I don't  use a brush , perhaps a little dry shampoo, I just scrape it all up with my fingers, then only tighten the pony from the top.

For more pony tail ideas check out one of my first ever posts for this blog :)

Hair Accessory Storage Solution ( Apr 13)

Hair Accessory Storage Solution

Does anybody else struggle to store their hair accessories, I end up with bobbles (Hair ties) and bobby pins all over my room and I can never find any of them.
So now I have a small glass bowl, they look cutely displayed and I know where they all are.

Hope you like it.
