Simple Lip Balm (July 13)

Simple Lip Balm

For the last week or so I have been trialling this lip balm by Simple and I love it.
If your in the UK you will know this; but its been really sunny this week so it was great to be testing a product with an SPF barrier. And despite the weather my lips are softer than when I started testing the product.
It doesn't smell of anything but it feels really nice and has a sweet taste to it, it has no colour but  a slight gloss.
Sooo worth a try, I love it and once my samples gone I'll definitely be getting some more, especially for the summer.

You will also notice below I got this free sample for being a Simple VIP.
Its free to join and well worth signing up to :)

L'Oreal Buys (July 13)

L'Oreal Buys

These are my two newest buys from L'Oreal, I can't wait to try them but I'm being a good girl and waiting for my old products to run out (well that's the plan anyway ).
I'm sure reviews will be to follow.

And while were on the note I'd like to mention what bargains , well huge savings , I've been getting from Boots lately, I don't think I've ever had such good offers and vouchers via my Advantage card before. If your in the UK, and don't already have an advantage card, get one, they're free and well worth having !

Bad Make up and How to Fix it (July 13)

Bad Make up and How to Fix it

There's nothing I hate more than Tacky make up, so I've taken a few pictures with these horrible looks, and then fixed it, kind of , with a few simple steps, I'll be honest I'd much rather have taken it off, but it was a fun little activity.

1) Thick liquid eye liner with a huge wing and next to no mascara, seriously your not Amy Winehouse.

2) Orange foundation. I hate this, it just looks gross, same with orange fake tan.

3) A thick line of blusher or bronzer. Either of these things should blend with the skin tone and highlight the cheekbones, not look like a stripe.

4) And finally concealer lips , this just makes me gag, who ever came up with this, what on earth was they thinking !!

1) To fix the eye problem I added some mascara and then did a Smokey eye using brown eye shadows. Then I used a green eyeliner on the bottom outer corner of my lashes.
2) To fix the orange problem I started by blending the Foundation lower into my neck, so there wasn't such a line, I did cheat a bit my removing some of this, I didn't take it off , just rubbed it with my hand to blend it down.
3) To blend the blusher, again I smudged it with my fingers and added highlighters and lighter pink blusher into the mix. Although sadly this did leave my face a little too glittery.
4) To Cover this I did a lip stick gradient that I will show in a later post.

Model Co Eye Liner Pencil (June 13)

 Models Co Eye Liner Pencil

In the past I have always used  an  Avon but I haven't had the chance to buy any lately, so as my last pencil ran out, I hit a problem.
In an act of desperation I reached for this eye pencil I got free with a magazine last month. I can't remember which, it would have been Glamour or Elle.
I like the Avon pencils because they are more like a gel than a pencil, so they don't smudge unless you want them too, and they have a plastic applicator rather than a wooden pencil.
Which to me just seems hazardous , sharpened wood by your eye ! Really ?

But I was pleasantly surprised by this pencil, it didn't smudge too badly at all, which I want, I know some people like to create a smoky effect but I'd rather have my eye liner stay still and use a shadow.

And I really liked the colour, that might sound crazy, black is black right ? But this is a pretty black.

:)
